The idea for World Peace Day (sometimes called World Healing Day) originated with John Randolph Price of the Quartus Foundation, a non-denominational spiritual organization in Texas. It was first celebrated on December 31st, 1986, as the culmination of the United Nations International Year of Peace. Over the years, more and more people have joined in this global hour of prayer and meditation for world peace and planetary healing. People of all faiths, all nationalities, all races and political persuasions are invited to suspend their differences and focus on their common vision of Peace on Earth in this non-denominational, non-political instant of human cooperation.

When enough of us hold the vision of a healed world, we can real-ize our dream. One hour of your time and faith, on this special day of the year, can make a difference. Please join in this global hour of prayer at Noon, Universal Time on the last day of each year, December 31st.
